Bulgarian Association of Community Foundations (ACFB)

The Bulgarian Association of Community Foundations (ACFB) was established in 2005 with the aim to facilitate exchange of information and experience among its members, strengthen members’ organisational capacity, and represent Bulgarian community foundations at national and international levels. Its website lists 12 members however the Association has not been active for some time.

Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation

The Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation was established in 2001. Its mission is to encourage communities to take responsibility and to work actively for social development, utilizing local resources. Currently, community foundations in Bulgaria focus on youth development, especially the youth unemployment in the country. However, the biggest challenge for community foundations in Bulgaria at the moment is decreasing corporate funding.
